Walter Dean Grigsby

Biography

Walter Dean Grigsby, 90, of Plattsburg, MO, passed away quietly on May 8, 2012. He was born on July 31, 1921 in Newburg, MO, to Lewis and Grace Grigsby. He earned a BA and an MS in Ed at CMSU and an EdD at Mizzou. He served in the Pacific theater during WW II as a Lt. JG in the US Navy. He was a lifetime school administrator, serving as a principal, asst. supt., and supt. He was asst. supt. for curriculum in St. Charles, MO, for many years where he was also an elder in the St. Charles Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Emily Grigsby, and is survived by his son, Michael Grigsby, and his wife of 65 years, Jean Grigsby, both of the home. Interment will be at High Point Cemetery in Hughesville, MO, at 2:00 pm Friday, May 11; and a memorial service will be held at the Broadway United Methodist Church in Plattsburg at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 12.
