Wayne Mucke, age 69, of Sedalia, Missouri, formerly of the Raymore and Belton, Missouri  areas, died Saturday, August 17, 2002, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born April 24, 1933, in Deepwater, Missouri, a son of Henry Anthony and Leona Catherine Goebel Mucke. On June 18, 1955, in Belton, he was married to Jo Anne Job, who survives of the home.

Mr. Mucke was a commercial real estate appraiser. Prior to entering the appraisal field, he owned businesses in Belton, and then in Sedalia for 23 years. He was a member of the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers and had served on the Raymore Board of Zoning Adjustments, the Cass County Welfare Board, and was a charter member of the Mount Pleasant Welfare Board in Belton.

Mr. Mucke's family members were the founders of St. Sabina's Catholic Church in Belton, and Mr. Mucke was president of the first parish council of the church. He was also a past-president and lifetime member of the Belton Junior Chamber of Commerce and was listed in the 1967 edition of the Outstanding Young Men of America.

Mr. Mucke was very active in the Sacred Heart Parish, serving in a variety of duties between 1969 and 1984. He had served as president of the Pettis County Board for the Developmentally Disabled and was a member and past-president of the Sedalia Rod and Gun Club. Mr. Mucke was a veteran of the Korean War.

Also surviving are three daughters, Krista Renae and husband Mark T. Kempton and Kelly Leann and husband Kent A. Burkholder, both of Sedalia, and Karla Jo and husband Major Stephen W. Hall of Oceanside, Calif.; his mother, Leona Catherine Mucke of Danville, Calif.; a sister, Donna M. Brewer of Pleasanton, Calif.; a brother and good friend, Jerry L. Mucke of Liberty; and seven grandchildren, Thomas Brody Kempton,Samuel Ryan Kempton, Benjamin Tanner Kempton, Jacob Allen Burkholder, Allison Paige Burkholder, Jodi Lynne Hall and Turner Stephen Hall. He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Kevin Wayne Mucke.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday August 20, 2002,at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Tom Albers officiating. A reception luncheon at the Sacred Heart Parish Center will follow services. There will be a private burial.

Pallbearers will be Mark T. Kempton, Jason B. Kempton, Kent A Burkholder, Maj. Stephen W. Hall and Thomas B. Kempton. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher A. Mucke, Gilbert P. Mucke and Jerry L. Mucke.

Friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2002, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. The family will receive visitors from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Children's Therapy Center in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, 519 S. Ohio Ave., Sedalia, MO 65301.
