Life Legacy
Donald “Duck” Eschbacher, 75, of Sedalia, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at Sylvia Thompson Residence Center.
He was born October 9, 1930, in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of Henry G. and Lora Marie Palmer Eschbacher. On February 19, 1955, in Sedalia, he was married to Ruth Harms, who survives.
Mr. Eschbacher was raised and educated in Sedalia, a 1948 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He entered the United States Air Force in 1951 during the Korean War. He received his training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. He attended school in Glendale California to become a Flight Engineer on a 52 bomber. He served time in Guam and Japan and was discharged in 1955. Mr. Eschbacher worked for Pittsburg Corning and later the U. S. Postal Service from 1957 until his retirement in 1988. He enjoyed fishing with his wife at Beaver Lake in Arkansas.
Also surviving are special friends, Donna & Don Ramey, Jeffrey & Lynn Wilcox, Paul Ramey, Tim Ramey, Jessica Ramey, Jalynn Wilcox; 3 nieces, 2 nephews, and several cousins.
Mr. Eschbacher was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Vincent Hoying officiating.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church Saturday.
Mr. Eschbacher donated his body to University of Missouri Anatomical Board.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Mid – Missouri Chapter Alzheimer’s Association or Donor’s Choice, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
