Life Legacy
Anna Catherine Velten, 85, of Sedalia, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at her home.
She was born July 23, 1921, in Bahner, MO, the daughter of William and Margreat Weller Meyer. On August 20, 1940, in Bahner, MO, she was married to Raymond O. Velten, who preceded her in death on August 29, 2006.
Mrs. Velten was raised and educated in Bahner. She worked as a homemaker and was a devoted mother to her 11 children. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are eight daughters, Ann Ganson, of Sedalia, Mary Philliber, of Sedalia, Margi Kettner, of Overland Park, KS, Jan Gray, of Villisca, IA, Marti Weiss, of Sedalia, Charlet Monsees, of Sedalia, Karen Burks, of Sedalia and Cindy Rhoads, of Columbia, MO; two sons, Dave Velten and Dan Velten, both of Sedalia; one brother, Ralph Meyer, of Cole Camp, MO; one sister, Mary Bockelman, of Cole Camp, MO; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis Velten; and a brother, Clarence Meyer.
A private family Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Timothy Armbruster and Rev. Father Vincent Hoying officiating. Pallbearers were Todd Ganson, Jeff Velten, Matthew Green, Kyle Weiss, Keith Weiss, Eric Monsees, Brett Monsees, Joel Burks and Brenton Rhoads. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church for masses said in her name, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
