Life Legacy
August John A.J. Kaiser, Jr., 77, of Gower, MO formerly of Sedalia, died Friday, August 17, 2007, at North Kansas City Hospital.
He was born May 30, 1930, in Sedalia, MO, the son of August John and Elizabeth Lehnert Kaiser. On December 8, 1950, in Sedalia, MO, he was married to Mildred Marie Lilly, who survives of the home.
Mr. Kaiser was raised and educated in Sedalia and was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He worked for TWA Airlines for 35 years, 7 years of which he worked with NASA on the Mercury and Apollo space programs. He was a lifetime member of the International Association of Machinists. He loved airplanes and flying.
Also surviving are three daughters, Janie Davis, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Jo Ann Kaiser, of Edgewater, FL and Janet McCartney, of Northmoor, MO; a sister, Anna Lee Swords, of Sedalia, MO; three grandchildren, David and Lenore Davis and Lucas McCartney; and a great-grandchild, Cayden Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rose Marie Whapham.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2007, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, 519 S. Ohio, Sedalia, MO 65301, with the Rev. Richard Williams officiating. Pallbearers will be Pat Swords, John Swords, Mike Swords, Lucas McCartney, Sam Liston and Sean Collard. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sedalia.
Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Sunday, August 19, 2007, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor�s choice, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, 519 S. Ohio, Sedalia, MO 65301.
